Tips on becomming a race car driver?

I've been interested in being a race car driver for several years, now I'm very serious about it but don't know where to start, and have no experience. Plus I'm a girl. My dream (distant future) is to drive for Nascar, I know it would take a LOT of hard work, dedication and time to build up to that point, and I know it's a long shot that I ever reach that dream. BUT can anyone give me tips on where to begin and what to do to pursue my dream? Thanks in advance.
