nascar changing name to Sprint Cup and the ATT issue?!?!?
April 23, 2008 • NASCAR How To's
The following website is a very good opinion piece on Nascar allowing Sprint to change the name of the series from Nextel Cup to Sprint Cup because Sprint is phasing out the Nextel name.
I thought that is what At&t was doing and Nascar doesnt want that to happen? Isnt that a fair trade issue and a monopolizing the sport? Besides AT&T would be bringing money into Nascar anyway so why is Nascar being a bunch of retards?

What is being said in the article was that Sprint merged with Nextel and the Winston Cup was renamed the Nextel Cup and now because Sprint is phasing out the Nextel name the name of the series more than likely will be changed to Sprint Cup. So, if it is ok for Sprint to do this why wouldnt it be ok for AT&T to do this since they own Cingular and they are phasing out the Cingular name. Just sounds like hypocrisy to me.
I do understand that Sprint/Nextel is the "series" sponsor and they can do as they please, personally if Nascar keeps going with the 100 million dollar lawsuit against Att and they win, they may seriously damage the integrity of the sport.
also my apologies I forgot to add acting like retards. Changes the question a little bit, dontcha think?
Thats always been an issue with me thinking faster than I can type…lol
